Meet our Speakers…
Mariam Mohammed – MoneyGirl
Mariam is a Pakistani-Australian woman. She is a speaker, facilitator, entrepreneur and coach. Mariam co-founded MoneyGirl – a social enterprise delivering financial literacy to young women. Now, she speaks at events and organisations about the importance of intersectionality (Diversity and Inclusion) in organisational strategy, strength-based community building and stakeholder engagement.
She has been recognised by the Financial Review as one of Australia’s 100 Women of Influence, and by the State as a 2020 NSW Young Woman of the Year Finalist.
Lisa Burling Blake – LBPR
Lisa Burling Blake is an award-winning businesswoman, degree-qualified journalist and PR professional, and a published author. She has over 20 years’ PR experience working on some of the world’s biggest brands and companies in Australia, the United Kingdom and Europe.
The Founder and Managing Director of award-winning PR consultancy LBPR, which has been recognised as one of Australia’s best PR consultancies by the Public Relations Institute of Australia since inception, winning awards at the NSW and National level every year. Highlights include the 2018 NSW Best Small PR Consultancy of the Year, 2018 National + NSW Best PR Campaign on a Small Budget and 2017 National + NSW Best Digital & Social Media Campaign.
A proud mum to two little boys, Lisa loves helping people make their little dreams come true and her own – including writing her first book, Dream A Little Dream, which she self-published and launched in February 2019. After being signed as an author to New Holland Publishers in Australia, her first book is being re-launched nationally.
Grace Mugabe – Financially Empowered
Grace Mugabe CPA is an experienced Management Accountant and founder of Financially Empowered, a for-purpose enterprise that empowers women by equipping them with financial literacy skills. Her business is driven by two of the United Nations Sustainability Development Goals – Gender Equality and Quality Education. Financially Empowered provides small business CFO services, financial education training and systems implementation services training to women led enterprises.
In the 2019, Grace was a finalist in the Women in Finance Awards for the ‘Women’s Community Program of the Year’ recognizing her Money Matters for Migrants initiative. She has previously been awarded a grant & scholarship from the Layne Beachley Foundation to help her create financial literacy workshops and resources for migrant women in Australia. In addition, she was finalist in the 2017 United Nations Association of Australia (WA) ‘Excellence in Gender Equity Promotion’ Award.
A committed advocate for community involvement, Grace has served on numerous boards, including 100 Women, Ishar Multicultural Women’s Centre and Business Station. She is also a Behind the Brands ambassador.
Known for her ability to connect, engage and contribute greatly to her clients, Grace has been featured on various media platforms including Channel 9, The West Australian, Channel 7 as a Financial Literacy and Budgeting expert.
